Our village on the hill
Sopra e Sotto is close to the old town of Montelparo. With almost 1,000 inhabitants and an altitude of 588 metres, it is a typical medieval hilltop town of this region. Much of the old town wall is still intact. There are several churches to visit, a piazza and even a bicycle museum.
In Via Roma, you will find the everyday essentials: a negozio di alimentari, a small grocery shop; butcher Deciderio with his famous porchetta; a bank with an ATM; a post office; a pharmacy; and two bars. Enjoy a meal on the terrace at pizzeria Diamoci del tu, or an atmospheric dinner with a wide choice of local specialities at Il gufo e la civetta.
During the summer months, village festivals are held regularly. Here they are called sagre.
